{connor} 8 weeks of the photo project

Before Connor was born, I saw this post on one of my favourite blog reads www.younghouselove.com. I loved how they could see the changes in their baby girl on a week by week basis. I also loved how they added the weekly numbers, seemed easy enough to me! So since Connor has been born, we have a weekly photo session (on top of all of the mini iphone photo sessions that we have daily). Most days he enjoys it, but we have had a couple of rough weeks, lol.

{fish} north buck lake

If you know us at all, you know that Jeremy LOVES to fish.  We didn’t wait long to take Connor on his first trip.

In March, we went on our first family road trip to North Buck Lake. Connor slept the majority of the way with a quick pit stop at Wandering River for a feed and a diaper change. Once at the lake we met up with Donny Pasko and his son James. Connor had his first experience in the ergo carrier and fell asleep promptly (not surprising in the least).

All in all it was a successful trip, even though I am sure Jeremy would have preferred to catch more fish :)

{connor} the birth of our baby boy

On February 28th, 2012 our baby boy Connor James Stecyk joined the world. Weighing 7lbs 7oz and 20.5 inches long he has changed our lives in more ways than I can count.

I went into labour the day prior, quite unexpectandly actually. Throughout the day I picked my mom up from the bus as she was in town for work. We ran some errands throughout the day and then came back to the house to make supper. While cooking I was feeling some “leaking” but didnt really think anything of it. By the time supper was done my lower back was bothering me and my “leaking” had increased. After speaking to my sister on the phone I decided to go to the hospital and get checked out. I sent Jeremy off to curling, as I did not think anything was happening. After getting checked out at the hospital I was admitted, my water was broke and the contractions began. On the morning of the 28th we started pushing but to no avail. Connors head was stuck in my cervix and the doctor wanted to take an hour break to see if the swelling in his head would go down to allow him to fit through. Unfortunately the swelling did not go down and we were told that he would have to come via c-section. At 2:48PM, Connor was born via emergency c-section. We stayed in the hospital for a few days and then got to come home. He is a little angel and reminds more of his dad every time i look at him!
